My first commission
Painting Dreams into Reality
The summer after I graduated from college was a time of changes. I was doing a remote internship and applying for jobs while also wanting to create another mural. Driven by this passion, I decided to take a chance and posted my first ad on Nextdoor. It didn't take long to find my first client.
The idea of my first commission was both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. Bringing someone's vision to life was new, but from the first coffee meet-up to the final brushstroke, I fell in love with the process. The project involved adding vibrant flowers to a backyard fence, creating a year-round garden look. I usually painted indoors, so this was new for me. But I was determined to do my best, spending hours researching the right paints, primers, and seals for all weather conditions.
Finishing this mural was a memorable moment. For the first time, I was paid for my art and skills. My client was thrilled with the result, and so was I!
